We want to thank you for your continued support over 2024.
This year we have continued collaboration with our fantastic partners, as well as made new and important ties with PYREG (Pyrolysis & Biochar) and MultiHeat (AHU & Heat Recovery Equipment).
We have also met lots of you at shows, fairs and expos across England where we showcased our fuel-efficient energy solutions for business and industry with our partners.
Sharing experiences, knowledge and perspectives together has been truly important and insightful for us.
The shows, exhibitions and conferences spread throughout the year provided a great opportunity for discussions with suppliers, customers, consultants and colleges alike.
The general thread of discussion across all events were:
energy efficiency
recognising and utilising waste streams in a more efficient manner
dealing with emissions reporting scope 1, 2 & 3
More joined-up thinking to link waste streams with alternative usage
Moving further away from fossil fuels as part of a more sustainable circular future
Utilising best low technology available for projects today, whilst also future proofing for changes in legislation and possible carbon tax
For those we didn’t meet this year, we have been connecting via LinkedIn and email, where we share renewable technology news and CFE company updates.
Thank you again for making 2024 a fantastic year at CFE. Here are the highlights from this year!
Shows
As mentioned, we have showcased at fairs, shows and expos this year, promoting fuel-efficient energy solutions with our fantastic partners.
6-7th March 2024
Low Carbon Agriculture Show, Stoneleigh
Partners
PYREG (Pyrolysis/Biochar), ElectraTherm (CHP), Boston Renewables (Solar PV), Bridge (Glasshouses) and Justsen (Biomass Boilers).
Our MD Jules delivered a case study presentation during the conference on day 2 called ‘Biomass, Biochar and Its Role in Net Zero Plans’. The case study summarised CFE’s recent experience as engineering partners on a IUK project, in order to evaluate extracting value from agricultural waste. This involves drying; processing through pyrolysis machinery; producing biochar; testing biochar quality to EBC (European biochar certification scheme) and finally on to crop propagation and growth trials in university labs.
15-16th May 2024
Pig & Poultry Fair, Birmingham
Partners
PYREG (Pyrolysis/Biochar), MultiHeat (AHU & Heat Recovery Equipment), ElectraTherm (CHP), Boston Renewables (Solar PV), Bridge (Glasshouses) and Justsen (Biomass Boilers).
Our MD Jules and PYREG’s Philipp Reichardt delivered a talk on extracting value from poultry manure and agricultural waste streams – Pyrolysis – Biochar – CORCs – Heat/Power generation.
The talk was well-attended! Here is a link to a video recording of the talk. Extracting Value From Poultry Manure and Agricultural Waste Streams BPPF 2024
11-12th September 2024
Energy, Fuels & Decarbonisation Expo, Birmingham
Partners
PYREG (Pyrolysis), Justsen (Biomass Boilers) and ElectraTherm (CHP Modules)
The show was brilliant, and we enjoyed speaking to many of you about waste management using pyrolysis technology to turn waste into valuable Biochar; combined heat and power solutions to create power from waste heat; and commercial biomass heating and steam systems.
Featured Articles
This year we have also written articles featured on the Environmental Services and Solutions website.
PYREG’s Pyrolysis Tech Tackling PFAS and Converting Sewage Sludge into Biochar
PYREG’s innovative system transforms waste streams like farm manure, sewage sludge, and industrial waste into valuable biochar – a product with incredible environmental benefits. By carbonising waste at high temperatures, this system removes PFAS and creates the biochar, which acts as a powerful sorbent to further bind contaminants in soil. Plus, they generate renewable energy that can be reused on-site or supplied to local heating grids. Find out more about how CFE and PYREG is shaping the future of waste management in the full article here:
Turning Waste into Energy via Pyrolysis
The UK generates 21.2 million tonnes of organic waste annually, including manure, food waste, biodegradable municipal waste, and sewage sludge, contributing to 10 million tonnes of CO2e emissions.
Pyrolysis, a proven Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) technology, transforms this waste into high-quality Biochar, which has multiple benefits: it reduces methane emissions in livestock, improves soil health, and can be used in construction.
CFE, in partnership with PYREG GmbH, offers Pyrolysis systems that convert organic waste into Biochar and renewable energy. This process reduces waste volume by 90%, lowers disposal costs, and helps industries achieve sustainability goals while generating clean energy.
